Lila from Gamekeeper's Lodge
Born in May 2002

domestic cat and mouse hunting champion :-)
Lila Champion from Gamekeeper's Lodge is an ordinary domestic cat. We can enjoy her company for over 8 years, therefore she is the oldest in the pet family. But actually she is not so common, she is actually a small kitten for her whole life, and it's not just a whim, there is a reason for that. As she was already lagging behind the little siblings, and this fact was further highlighted by her lack of appetite, just tried what was in the bowl and ran immediately to explore the world around, first it was just around the forester's lodge, then nooks of homes and gardens on our street. This habit endured with a small change till nowadays.
Lila didnīt come to us by herself, I always wanted a kitten, but in the flathouse on the second floor it was not real. Change occurred when we moved into a house in Soblahov and I could finally find dream one. It was not a problem, because we live in a village, and not even half a year since we move in, we were enjoing her company, both at home and at work in the garden. She wasnīt like that always, especially when she learned to walk and scramble on the roof and skylights, what she likes to do while there is opportunity. Preferably about the two or three am. Her neverending lack of company when feeding is also fun.
But that brings me to the said small change in her habit. By feeding from a bowl will not last more than 20 seconds and that also only in case she is alone. The point is that our little monster never wants to eat alone. Whenever she would like to eat, but does not want to be alone, she stands in front of the door into the storeroom and mews. In front of the doors because her food must by hidden from our always forever hungry ridgebacks. Therefore, we choose storeroom, there is normal doors for us on one side, small hole under the stairs for her on the otherside. Nothing prevent her to ran into the storeroom and eat how much she want, but she just take a bit and rush back to invent something. Or, when someone is at home, and at range, she constantly passes that door and awaits whether he will let her in and will keep her company. If she is let in, she eats an average of 2 1 granules, runs again and waits. This ceremony can be repeated for 30 times a day. In the event that we have enough patience and will kneel and caress her sometimes over 10 minutes, she will reward us by peacefully sleeping on the couch in the living room.
And what she says on dogs and dogs on her? Surprisingly, almost nothing. As they say one gets used to everything, so you can also say that the dogs can get used to the cat. Maybe because they both are younger than Lila, or other unknown reason they takes her as an equal member of the family. Except that she is the only member who they actually donīt obey. And do not think that we have a strange dog. They chase cats as normal dog used to, but they stop as soon as they are close enough to finds out itīs Lila. She even comes to welcome them the same way as to us, when they return home after time.
From an overall perspective Lila is ordinary cat like any other, if you stripped out some amusement as her habit to climb the Christmas tree every year, or sleeping between books and magazines, or provocating dogs when she is bored…
She is simply our usual - unusual companion Lila :-)
